First Wave is the first and only full tuition hip-hop scholarship in the country. First Wave students are published authors, nationally renowned and internationally ranked poets, rappers making noise on the underground, and community organizers.

Please note that those applying to participate in Brave New Voices should be a group. Competing Team: these teams will represent their cities and compete in the poetry slam Non-competing Team: these teams are groups that want to attend BNV but not compete in the poetry slam.

Please be sure to identify yourself as a non-competing team in your application. Individuals: If you are an individual and would like to attend, you do not need to register.
