Please add any available information to this section. The Charred Vale was once a tranquil and verdant section of forest, but in recent times a number of fire and earth elementals appeared here, burning and blasting the ancient trees.
To complicate matters further, harpies not only maintain a presence here but seem to flourish. Corrupted treants also wander the vale, along with basilisks and even a few chimeras.
It is possible that the corruption of the vale is caused by the demons found to the south in Desolace. Don't forget the old grey basilisk scale.
Worth at least 3 copper apiece. Mages - you will be thrilled to know that Mana Shield doesn't work against Storm Witches, who throw some kind of lightning at you, and yes of course, some of those are phantom adds, so plan on dying at least twice. I guess there are some redeeming virtues here and in three tries I haven't found any, so I am just too stupid for words. Coming back the third time was really stupid. Comment by Thottbot I don't really think any grind is a waste. The idea behind it isn't just to get loot or be entertaining. Most times you grind to get XP. It may be tedious, but, it levels you up. That's why it's a grind. Comment by Thottbot died about 15 times on this quest from all the annoying aggro because when your low on health and you need to run, you just run right into another bloody harpy.
Comment by Thottbot Did as a party. Was an easy one but i guess it isn't able solo, too many mobs moving around there and the hordies as well. The roguefeather are located in the south.

I'm a 26 night elf druid. I stealth to find the roguefeathers but you can do it if you run around the rim of the basin.

Comment by Thottbot I don't know what you guys are talking about, calling this quest hard. Level 26 shaman, it was really easy. The biggest problem I had was finding my last Slayer. Comment by Thottbot You can do at least 4 q's at once there Alliance. Doing the q's with a disc priest solo with horde groups running around, a great mob density and the GY miles away isn't exactly a piece of cake :P If you like PVP, this place is heaven for horde and alliance.
If you don't want risking a long walk from the GY, bring some friends along. Comment by Allakhazam When doing this quest on your own, be aware of Horde parties on the "Harpies Threaten" quest. Comment by Allakhazam These are harpy-types found in the Charred Vale. The Charred Vale can be a very dangerous place for characters below level 30 which is when most characters will be in the area quests levels are roughly This is due to the close proximity of many of the mobs in the area as well as the high number of wandering and overlapping mobs.
Most of the harpies are in fairly tightly packed groups around clusters of trees. It is very easy to aggro a sizeable number of mobs unintentionally and you must remain constantly alert for wanderers. Classic WoW Wiki Explore.
