Its not like you need them either, I recruited a friend of mine and the exp we were earning was so abusively intense and this was back in WOTLK, so there were no comfy post-cata leveling zones that with just 4 quests we were done with the zone and moved to the next. So, you dont actually NEED said heirlooms Plus, itemization on quest-rewards post-cata is actually nice, so yhea, for combat bonuses you dont need them either.
You have 2 characters on 85, you could use your toon number 1 to grant 40 levels of exp to her instantly, then use your toon number 2 to grant another 40 levels to her instantly, and then she's 80 and you help her level the other 5 levels with your main. If she later levels another toon, and does it the traditional way questing, killing mobs, doing bgs she can then grant levels to YOUR toons I hope that answered your question.
