Goofs When Simon takes on a French personality he calls himself Simone. If he were French, his name would not change to Simone unless his personality were also female, which it's not.
Simone is the female French form of Simon. Simone, on the other hand, is said see-MON like it is said in the movie,. Quotes Brittany : Of course. User reviews 77 Review. Top review. Bring the kids, and enjoy the show. I remember when I was a kid and this was popular. I guess all things are new again. When they all get together, preparation of a raft to get them off the island goes underway and everyone is assigned a job. When the raft is finished, Jeanette and Simone are still in the forest looking for food.
Suddenly, Simone gets knocked out with Zoe's golf ball and Zoe kidnaps Jeanette with the help of her basketball. Simon goes unconscious and reverts to his normal self when he wakes. When Simon is found, he cannot remember anything since the bite. Brittany, figuring Zoe is responsible, asks him where he found the gold bracelet that he gave to Jeanette, but he doesn't remember. Brittany then asks Eleanor how to get there. When they approached the tree log to cross, Dave and Alvin decide they'll go and find Jeanette, while Ian and other chipmunks go back to the coast.
Zoe meanwhile forces Jeanette to get the treasure by tying her to a rope. As Alvin and Dave come to her rescue, the island begins to rumble again and Zoe lets go of the rope. Jeanette runs with Dave and Alvin back to the raft but is pulled back at the log bridge.
Dave is left hanging from the log when it almost gives way. After Alvin and Ian convince Zoe to help save Dave, they run towards the raft and escape the eruption. While on the raft, Zoe apologizes to Jeanette for kidnapping her and forcing her to get the treasure. However, this becomes harder than it sounds as the songs increase in tempo and the on-screen controls become more frenetic. All in all, though, this game is designed to be widely accessible and is more about dancing along to popular songs than providing an intense challenge.
Parents need to know that Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked , based on the movie of the same name , is a music and rhythm-matching game that requires players to perform movements to the beat of a variety of songs. This game skews a little older than the intended audience of the movie because a few of the songs contain flirtatious lyrics and there is one reference to a man being shot, though these lyrics are not overtly provocative or graphic.
There are 30 songs in total and the game supports both single-player and two-player cooperative play modes. For the Xbox version of this game, the Kinect motion sensor is required. The story involves the chipmunks performing on a cruise when they become shipwrecked and must work together to get out of their predicament.
The story is presented in images and cutscenes in between rounds of gameplay. Also in the "Story Mode," players get to mix it up by performing on a variety of different tropical islands with varied background scenery. There is also a Freeplay Mode that allows players to dance to the songs without story cutscenes. Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked is not for dance game fans; it is for Alvin and the Chipmunks fans.
The wide selection of songs, sung by the unmistakable chipmunk voices, will please fans of that cute, unique style.
However, for the most part, the dance controls come off as basic and unchallenging so aficionados of other dance titles may not find as much appeal here. In addition, the Story Mode presents the story in an insufficient way that appears more as an afterthought than a central part of the game. In short, there is a nice, varied selection of songs, and the chipmunk vocals differentiate this game from others, but players should not go into the game expecting anything more than a simple, casual dancing title.
Families can talk about how this game can be used as an exercise tool. What else can be fun and active at the same time? Why are the chipmunks always causing so much mischief? Do they ever do anything that crosses the line?
